Liliana published her research thesis book Traces Pedagogy in 2014. The study addresses how the Reggio Emilia Philosophy was adapted within Dutch pedagogical culture, concerning practices and assumptions about quality childcare, early childhood, and primary education in the Netherlands.

The book further explores the status of constructivist theory in education, compares normative and social educational approaches within Europe and the USA, including current developments in Early Childhood Education theory, policy, and practices, and provides perspectives on cultural and linguistic diversity.

In 2006 at California State University Northridge's International Institute KSTECE, Liliana presented her research study Practical Implications of Language Development & Knowledge Building in a Reggio Emilia Classroom.
